About Me

Hey, I'm Jeunesse.
Sounds like finesse!
I'm a curious human, still figuring it out.
I'm a speaker, facilitator, host, former therapeutic counsellor, mother of three, and someone
who's always been fascinated by what makes us tick.
I've spent much of my life exploring how we think, how we relate to one another, and how the
stories we tell ourselves influence the way we experience our lives.
And somewhere along the way, life gave me an opportunity to explore those questions from
a very different perspective.
A different chapter
In 2022, I got COVID and was later diagnosed with post-viral onset myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME).
My life changed considerably.
For years, I'd been someone who loved being busy, contributing, connecting with people and finding new things to get involved in.
Suddenly, I had to learn how to live with much less energy and a great deal more uncertainty.
And somewhere along the way, I began to recognize just how much I'd associated my worth with what I could do, what I could contribute, and how useful I could be to others.
It made me curious about something I'd spent years helping other people explore.
Who are we when we aren't doing all the things we thought defined us?

Finding meaning in unexpected places
These days, some of my most meaningful moments happen in surprisingly ordinary ways.
Watching the birds outside my window. Noticing the changing seasons. Having conversations with my adult children. Spending time with Archie, my rescue miniature
poodle, who has become a rather important character in my life.
Archie had already experienced two different homes before we found each other. I like to think we both found a little more belonging along the way.
He's also a wonderful companion for slowing down, getting outside when I can, and remembering that there's an awful lot of life happening right in front of us.
I've come to appreciate that a meaningful life isn't necessarily something we have to achieve.
It's also something we get to experience and savour.
Still curious
My background in therapeutic counselling and positive psychology continues to influence how I see the world.
But these days, I'm less interested in telling people how to live and much more interested in creating opportunities for thoughtful conversations, fresh perspectives and a little self-discovery.
Through speaking, facilitating workshops, hosting Happy on Purpose, and developing Curious Human and The Pinecone Project, I get to explore the ideas that matter most to me.
Curiosity. Connection. Intrinsic worth. And the freedom to become more intentional about how we experience and participate in our lives.
I don't have it all figured out.
And I suspect I never will.
But I'm enjoying the conversation.
